Dear Nyle, sorry we didn't see you had written. The men just sing an octave lower. Or you could sing in your falseto voice. Just kidding. We love and miss you both, haven't had a good game of cards in over a year. The months are counting down now so we will be home soon. Wish you could be here in December. The beaches are fantastic, and we will think of you and the snow. love Ron

Nancy, I was just reading that you have been thinking about the garden back home. I wouldn't think about it too much because our gardens have been really awful this year. Even my Dad, who is a master gardener (ie farmer), has poor tomatoes. We have had such cool weather this summer and now we have rain and are looking like September. Everything is about 6 weeks behind what you would expect for being ripe and ready to pick and most things are not producing very well. The night temperatures have been 10 degrees below normal most of the summer so the vegetables have not grown like they usually do. You are lucky to be where you are and have all of those fresh vegs!

It sounds like you are doing a great job as missionaries. We always fall short of what we expect of ourselves!

Love,
Sherry

Nancy and Ron, I realized that I have great resources in my Sister and Brother in law, but I also remembered that Judy is also a wonderful resource, so I also asked her for help. She said she would do so, so I am very grateful . I will wait for her help, so thank you, cause I know you would help me out if I couldn,t get her help. I know you understand what I,m saying. Love you, Nyle and Sandi

Nancy and Ron, We, (a group of men) from Orofino, are to sing in Stake Conf. at the adult evening session. Well, I was asked to head it up since Sister Jackson is sick and can,t do it. Well today was the first practice and since I had to take Sandy to the hospital for problems, not sure whats causing them, anyway we had an overnight stay. Got more tests next week. Well, I had Merlin take the lead of the group for me. We are to sing, Our Saviors Love. He said since it is written for men and women it wasn,t possible to play the parts only for men since the accompaniment in the song books is written for women and men, and the parts would be to high for men on the treble cleft. How hard would it be to change it so the men could sing on the bass cleft and the pianist could play it that way. Give me some ideas if you could. Since you are such a sweet sister HELP!!!!!! Looking forward to your next update on the mission. Love you, Nyle and Sandi

Hi Nina and Steve, Thanks for thinking of me! We are actually 7 hrs ahead of you here, 8 hrs ahead of Kooskia. So when we visit on Skype with family it is usually about 3 in the afternoon your time, or midnight there, when we are just getting up here! You haven't been getting the big heat wave there huh? We've heard that the states have had unbearable heat recently though the early summer was very cool. Of course that may have been a lot farther south. It has been really pleasant here. We only had one really hot day. Today was tough. We went with our young adult group to do a service project, helping a sweet older lady in our branch, and her son try to clean up and fix up a summer cottage that they had used many years but has been abandoned for a log time now. We all worked hard cleaning, scraping old paint and pulling weeds, but the toughest part was all of the good food afterwards that they insisted on making for us, and then going to swim in some natural pools at the oceans edge afterwards to cool off! It's a tough job but somebody has to do it, right? Afterwards we cleaned up and went to man the youth outreach center for a few more hours. Pretty quiet tonight though. We had a lot more there last night.
How are you both doing health wise? We hope that you are not having too much pain . Has Steve's muscle pain problems improved, or gotten worse? This getting older is strange huh? When I think that we are older than our parents were when they moved over to Idaho, and then went on their mission, it is hard to believe! Inside I still feel 35, but then when I look in the mirror I can see that a lot of things have changed! Oh well. I hit the big 60 this year! It will save us some money when we have to take the ferry next time! Senior rates are a lot cheaper. Well I'd better get to bed. We love you. Did I hear that Nick and Adriana are back up there again? Lots of love, Nancy

Dear Nancy and Ron,

Happy birthday to a special sister!!!! I hope you are going to have a nice day with all that goes along with it to make your day special. I,m here alone while Sandi makes a visit to her daughter and family in Homer Ak. I think she is missing me and about ready to come home. The weather only warms up into the 60,s instead of the 90,s down here.

We have about given up on the house selling this yr. and may lease it or rent it out. I hate to do it, but Sandi wants to get our of here so bad. We have had a lot of lookers since I took it away from the realtors but just can,t seem to get anyone to make a decision. Got one guy says he wants it but is waiting on his financial planner to give him the go ahead.

Think and pray for you every day, Hope the work is going well. Your going past half way pretty soon.

Love you, Nyle and Sandi

Nina, Thanks for writing. I have been terrible about writing lately. It just seems that there isn't time enough in a day. At times I draw a blank too. Lately everytime I write a long letter to someone, it suddenly dissapears, and then I really feel like I wasted time! I think we had a virus in the computer. It seems better now, so I will see if this time it works right. That happened when I wrote to Irene. She did write to me. So thanks for giving her our blog site!. This week has been unbearably hot1 We don't usually miss the air conditioning, but yesterday it was over 40 Centegrade, which translates to 104! That is the warmest that we have seen. Usually it is in the 80''s in the summer. At least the chapel has air conditioning. With our calling working with the youth center we are there a lot. But it was really sweltering to sleep last night. We don't run the water heater much now to save money. The cool showers feel good- after the first shock! It's not like well water. It's been in storage tanks above ground for a while! We send our love. Thanks for thinking of us. Nancy

Happy Birthday Ron,
Hope you're having a special day and no more problem with ailments. That's not supposed to happen when your in the tropics! Can't seem to stop thinking about Dad also today.
Nancy had a nice visit with Irene Weatherston. We were at Steve's class reunion last week. They live in Logan now. I had printed off your blog as I hadn't had time to read and enjoy it so I tore off the address printed at the bottom and gave it to her.It was such a little slip of paper hope she didn't lose it. She was excited to email you. I'm so glad you take after Mom. Don't change it's a gift which we enjoy be able to read. I seem to go so blank. Love you, Nina K and Steve

Hi Irene, I wrote you a long note on my other email address which I look at more often, but it came back as undeliverable. How come this shows you email address as weatherton instead of weatherston? I/m going to try it the other way and see if it goes.
