I hope I am doing this right and you get it. I love reading all about your mission. It sounds like a neat place to be. Very nice people too. I think of you often. You have always been such a wonderful friend. Thank you. Scott and I are doing well. We have very blessed the last couple months with help from the church and the people. We are so grateful. I got a new job at the Orofino Hospital and I have Sundays off. I told the kids we can start going now. They are not too thrilled right now but hopefully after time that will change. I work nights there. Sometimes it is slow, other times busy. I still work part time over at the rehab, full time at the Hospital. I work a week and have a week off, so on my off week I will work at the rehab. I still clean the bank at night too. Scott works on my off days at the rehab. He took his classes and now he is a CNA too. The kids are doing well in school. Shawn just finished basketball. He loves that so much. His grades are pretty good. Savannah is doing great. People say she is growing a bit. She got her hair cut. Its short and cute. Brandon loves kindergarden. He is doing so well. He is soo smart and taking in everything he is being taught. He has a great teacher. Mrs.Dame. She is new to the area. She is from Utah. Mom is doing alright. She has been away for Thanksgiving and Christmas, visiting her kids. Nothing else hasa changed as far as where she is or what she is doing. She is hoping to move by spring, down to Idaho Falls. She found a place she really likes. Now its just a waiting period. Ken is about the same. Not really any change there. Well I hope you get this. I again enjoy reading what you post. Keep up the good work you do. Hop e to hear back from you when you get some time. Oh, by the way, we have turkeys .40 lb at Wally-World ! We have a new member of the family. It's a 5lb 8oz dachsund pup named Brutus! I didn't want another dog but it's not like I was consulted! Denise is a sucker for weiner dogs. He seems to be house training really well though. Denise bought me a screen printer for christmas It will take me a while to learn to use it but I should be able to produce some really good stuff and maybe even make something of myself. We love how things are going for you there. We came over to see Peter, on his return from his mission. He has really grown into a great man with a good knowledge of the gospel. We love to hear from family. We are busy and enjoying all of the activities of msssionary life, but always check for e-mails and word from home. Today was a great day- I met some interesting people while jogging in the park. one fellow who had been walking his dog visited with me for about a half hour( while I rested) and I found that he used to go to our church a few years ago! So he was either an inactive member or was investigating. Anyway I got his name and we will see him more in the future. But the cool thing was that Ron wasn't with me, and I had actually isied with this man in Spanish all that time and we had understood each other!!! I get pretty frustrated with how slow I am at learning to conjugate sentences properly, But I must be learning some, as he understood me. But you know Raquel still says things funny after 50 years, and we know what she means! I'm sure I sound like a kindergartener- but I'm trying. We love the people here. the Young adult group that they want us to work with, are wonderful. We had english classes and piano lessons tonight and then they had a ping pong tounament afterwards They had a lot of fun and so did we! I was surprised that I could still play ping pong after 40+ years! There was a few medical situations that second week that I was here, but it has been very little really. The mission president is a Dr. so I think sometimes he just takes care of the calls himself. I don't know, but it does seem that we don't have near the problems that a lot of places have. The water is good here, bugs are at a minimum. Haven't had any bites, so people are pretty healthy! So I'm not sure why we were called here as medical missionaries- but the mission president and given us lots of other work to do, and we are finding our nitch in helping to strengthen the branch and help the work go forward. Above all else in Provo they stress that "you are missionaries- you can teach and proselyte", so we hope to do more of that too. We have a number of nonmembes who we are loving into the gospel through our young adult and institute activities. You and Rob would be such wonderful missionaries! You have so many talents, and so much leadership experience. The Lord would surely use you in many way. Keep it in mind for the near future, while health is good and you are young a vibrant. What a beautiful place you have in which to serve. It sounds like you are being useful and busy. We are enjoying the beauty of this area as well. We love the people we work with and try to keep busy. Our ward has an average of above 95% attendance so we are not having to search for lost members. This is not the usual case over the island but due to the requirements of church employment.
